The company uses entrepreneurial techniques to help companies find, build, and test breakthrough innovations. We are looking for individuals to fill temporary positions supporting our Retail Lab service. The Retail Lab tests new products in retail stores to provide our clients with shopper purchase behavior and to test various marketing tactics.*’s operations Senior Consultant will provide training prior to Retail Lab set-up and will interact with the Merchandiser on a weekly/as needed basis during the test execution.
The Merchandiser – Retail Test Field Support position will assist in setting up the test products in stores, restocking stores, ensuring test conditions are maintained, reporting observations, and assisting with test end. Retail Labs typically have 6-12 test, control stores and last 4 months. This test will have 14 stores and will last 13-14 weeks; and is targeted to start February 7 and end April 3, 2019. The position is expected to require about 24-32 hours per week (TBD); working Monday – Friday 7/8 AM to 4/5 PM; with some weekend work. Days and hours are flexible.
 

The ideal candidate will have worked in a retail grocery/retail store as a merchandiser; either working for the retailer or as a merchandiser calling on retailers.

?Merchandising experience with national manufacturers (Frito Lay, Nestle, etc) or have worked for merchandising companies like: Acosta, Advantage Solutions, or Crossmark.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • For Test Stores:
    • Initial Store Set-up: assist with “cutting in” test products on shelves
    • Restock test products
    • Ensure product is shelved properly and shelf is full
    • Ensure tags are up and prices correct
    • Ensure proper number of facings and placement
    • Ensure the rest of the section is set properly
    • Record any competitive activities
    • Take a photo of the section when finished
    • Talk to store manager to capture any observations
    • Provide weekly reports
  • Assist with test end, store resets

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Ideally, 2-5 years prior experience as Merchandiser or working in grocery, mass retail
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills to effectively interact with store personnel
  • Basic computer skills; ability to use Microsoft Office Word and fill out Excel documents
  • Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record
    • No “major” citations and accidents past 3-5 years
  • Must have vehicle in good operating condition; drive 50-100 miles per day, about days per week

Typical Physical & Other Requirements

  • Lift, carry cases weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Work 24-32 hours per week; potential for weekend work and additional hours
  • Must pass background check (Criminal, DMV) and drug screening
  • Provide copy of driver’s license
