Microbiology clinical lab operations supervisor

Adecco- Medical & Science is hiring for a Full-time "Clinical Technical Operations Supervisor" for one of our leading clients in Healthcare industry in Livermore,CA.
We are looking for experienced individuals with 4-5 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory scientist (CLS) in microbiology,Molecular or Gen Lab , with experience in personnel management,quality assurance, technical writing, test development, project management, teaching & have demonstrated ability to manage a section's budget are highly desirable.

Location: Livermore, CA

Compensation: Pay up to 140,000 Anually + Great Benefits!

Shift Hours: 10 PM- Monday to Friday

Job Summary:

This position supervises the assigned technical area of A Hospital providing continued service excellence and effective employee relations. This position provides technical support to, and administrative oversight of, the Clinical Laboratory Scientists. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the technical lab, including oversight of quality assurance/quality control, customer service, problem solving and occurrence management, safety, process improvement and supervision of Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) and Lab Assistant personnel.

About Role:

-Serves as the communication link between the Technical section staff and the Departmental -Manager regarding administrative issues and ensures that staff is kept up to date on personnel policies and procedures.
-Prioritizes the Technical workload and assigns work duties to ensure the delivery of high quality, cost effective diagnostic services in a timely manner
-Interviews, hires and terminates employee, working with the Departmental Manager
-Conducts performance reviews within defined timeframes and recommends merit increases.
-Acts as a technical resource to staff. Resourceful, knowledgeable and willing to learn new technologies, methods, and procedures
-Develops and maintains a system of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting activities for technical section which meets the requirements set forth by regulatory agencies. Makes minor repairs, and in the case of major equipment failures, initiates appropriate steps to have equipment repaired by the service representative in a timely fashion, resulting in minimum downtime
-Ensures that policies and procedures are kept up-to-date and that they comply with the regulations set forth by the State and Federal law and in accordance with accrediting organization requirements.
-Communicates frequently with the Departmental Manager to keep them informed and obtain approval for all actions on issues, changes and quality-related tasks as appropriate. Maintains documentation of communication, actions and approvals for investigation, inspection and monitoring
-Efficiently, effectively and competently performs all functions of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (minimum 20% of job) including analytical testing, quality control, preventative maintenance
-Uses effective monitoring techniques to evaluate process and outcome, taking corrective action as appropriate. Uses effective follow-up action to ensure the suitability of corrective action taken and continues to make improvements when indicated
-Assists the Departmental Manager and Laboratory Safety Officer in the development, implementation, support and coordination of a Laboratory Exposure Control Plan which complies with the OSHA Blood borne Pathogens Standard
-Maintains a working knowledge of department and section specific safety policies/procedures such as universal precautions (exposure control), biohazard waste, and the Chemical Hygiene Plan, the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan, and disaster preparedness. Encourage staff compliance by setting an example through safe work practices and by coaching/counseling when necessary.

-Bachelors Degree (Micro Biology) or in related field must have Clinical Lab Scientist License - CLS-L
- 4-5 years experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist required in Microbiology, Molecular or Gen Lab as appropriate for specific department oversight.
-Prior supervisory experience is highly desirable
-Experience in personnel management, quality assurance, technical writing, test development, project management, teaching, and demonstrated ability to manage a section’s budget are highly desirable.

-Must have CLS License From State of California
-Must have experience in Micro-biology
