Microbiology Lab Tech - Greenwood SC

Adecco is assisting a local company identify Microbiological Lab Techinicians

Core responsibilities Understand and practice the safety procedures in both laboratory and manufacturing area Laboratory equipment operation and routine maintenance: autoclave, balance, pH meter, incubators water bath, and bio-safety cabinets Media preparation and daily handling for microbiological testing Perform sample collection in manufacturing area; such as, water, environmental air, environmental surface, equipment C&S and work-in –progress materials. Prepare laboratory samples for log in and testing Perform contamination checks for Finished Products, Raw Material, Work-in-Progress, water and swab samples aseptically Monitor and assist management of laboratory consumable inventories Maintain the microbiology laboratory according to the housekeeping SOP and practices Assist on managing laboratory waste and compliance with bio-hazardous waste handling procedure Document laboratory data and supporting information during testing per cGMP Support the laboratory activities to maintain quality assurance systems Maintain accurate, up to date, and concise laboratory records per good documentation requirement Sample storage and disposal per laboratory SOP Competencies Demonstrate a strong understanding of microbiological testing procedures and laboratory processes, especially aseptic technique. Initiate and maintain mutually supportive relationships with internal and external colleagues Willingness to change and adapt new requirement for continuous improvement Communicates clearly, concisely, and effectively through written and oral mean Open to constructive coaching & feedback and demonstrate improvement Work with colleagues for issue resolutions during conflicts Flexible to work hour changes (scheduling & overtime) due to business needs

Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory: Skill/Experience/Education Mandatory Education and Experience: Technical degree or certification in microbiology or related science Preference Prior laboratory experience in a manufacturing facility Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Windows Programs and Excel *being able to work during weekend is a must
