The primary responsibility of the Millwright is for the maintenance and repair of the plants process equipment. Performing said responsibility by the following, but not limited to, duties:   

  • Welding: perform ARC or MIG welding utilizing a plasma cutter and/or Oxygen/Acetylene torch.
  • Liner/tire: Removing existing liners and installing new liners, which weigh 300 lbs each.
  • Gearboxes and compressors: replacing gear boxes and compressors utilizing come-a-longs and chain hoists.
  • Elevators/Drives: replacing elevator drive chains and drive components.
  • Belt Conveyors: repair and/or replacing belts.
  • Crane repairs: changing bridge and trolley wheels, replacing brake drums and linings, aligning of couplings, replacing bearings and shafts.
  • Kiln/Cooler Repair: replacing cooler tubes utilizing a sledgehammer to align the flanges while 40 feet in the air during annual kiln down period.
  • Inspecting and/or testing damaged machine parts, mark defective areas and advise the proper parties.
  • Apply all aspects of the maintenance program (preventive and corrective maintenance, reporting, etc.).
  • Maintain, repair, install and replace mechanical systems and associated equipment.
  • Monitor and perform field inspections on equipment; take action (report, operate, repair, fabricate, clean, adjust, etc.) on field equipment and process.
  • Observe, understand and apply all administration and safety precautions, rules and procedures throughout the plant and on a variety of mobile equipment.

The requirements for this position are as follows:

  • Must be capable of ARC or MIG Welding, in all positions, utilizing a plasma cutter, Oxygen/Acetylene torch.
  • Must be familiar with the proper use and maintenance of hydraulic presses and pullers.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have prior experience as an experienced Millwright and the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, repair and/or replace the following:
    • Conveying equipment and associated systems (belt conveyors, drag chains, elevators, air slides, screw conveyors, material feeders)
    • Gas and related equipment (fan, airlock, compressor, dust collector and vent lines to equipment)
    • Water related equipment (pumps, filters, valves)
    • Area plant equipment (raw mill, coal mill, blend silo, preheat tower, kiln, cooler, bag houses, finish mill systems)
    • Associated plant equipment (drives, hydraulics, couplings, cooling)
