Occupational Health Registered Nurse, Union City


Adecco-Medical & Science is hiring for " Full-Time Registered Nurse - Occupational Health Center/ Nurse Practitioner" for one of our client in Union City, CA.

Working hours: 1st Shift Monday- Friday with some variability to cover all shifts
Compensation- 80,000/ year- 90,000/ Year
Experience required- 5+ years as a Registered Nurse in Occupational Health (in Organization set-up)

Job Description:

Provide occupational health and wellness services to client's colleagues within regulated scope of practice
Assesses employee’s safe work capacity based on history and examination
Promote optimal recovery through education and counseling of injured workers on pathophysiology and treatment plan
Provide continuity of care by developing, documenting and implementing effective medical treatment and disability management
Perform initial patient screenings and patient history and physical. Diagnosis and treatment of occupational/personal injuries and illnesses
Coordinate clinical operations, including medical surveillance and OSHA recordkeeping
Initiate and support site health promotion and disease prevention programs
Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
Facilitate Workers’ Compensation, ADA requests, and assist in the interactive process for short/long term disability cases, including FMLA
Return to Work case management
Document patient data in electronic medical database(s), as applicable per standard protocols
Participate on site, or regional committees/sub-teams as assigned
Assist in ergonomic assessments of work areas
Provide fitness for duty assessments
Emergency response triage. Medical monitoring of emergency responders. Oversight and training of Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT)
Provide orientation of clinic services to new colleagues
Administer job-related vaccinations
Travel consults for international personal/business travelers
Reproductive health consults, with risk assessments of job duties
May be responsible for medical surveillance oversight of other sites within the Diagnostic Platform.

Potential applicant will interact with manufacturing, R&D, and office operations through out the facility including working with all levels of the organization and be visible in the operations areas to support healthy work practices.

SUPERVISION- This position will be reposnsible for Medocal Assistant and other Medical providees at other organziation sites.


Masters Degree in Advanced Practice Registered Nursing (APRN)
APRN Board Certification
Willing to obtain licensure in other states where applicable and allowed
COHN-S preferred
Strong background in ergonomics and orthopedics is essential
5+ years’ experience in occupational health, ER or urgent care
Experience in acute episodic care, wellness care and counseling of adults


Proficient in the use of electronic medical record keeping systems.
Certified as MERT trainer or willing to obtain
Confidence in ability to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses
Skill in interpreting uncomplicated x-rays, spirometry tests, audiograms, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies
Comfortable in suturing simple lacerations, performing simple eye examinations including foreign body removals


The work conditions for the position are stationary with periodic standing, walking, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing through out the work day.
Transferring patients and objects may be required.
This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity.
The incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials.
The incumbent must be mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, able to shift priorities based on patient needs.
The colleague(s) may be required to travel and or work greater than 40 hours per week, including week-ends and holidays to support the business.
Must wear appropriate gowning and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in manufacturing/production areas.
