POSITION: Operations Control Analyst
LOCATION: New York, NY
HOURS: Mon- Fri 8:30am-5:00pm
DURATION: 6 months (contract)
Pay Rate: 35.00 per hour


SUMMARY OF DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Role Details
The Operations Control Group is part of the Global Operations team of and is responsible for the reconciliation and key control oversight. Operations Control provides oversight of the risk control framework within, working closely with Operations, Finance, Compliance and other infrastructure partners to create a more effective control environment. The candidate will contribute to the implementation of the Operations Control Framework while partnering with various teams in Operations both locally and globally to analyze and understand processes, identify risk areas and ensure successful mitigation where needed. The candidate must be a strong contributor to the Operations Control team by effecting initiatives designed to establish a strong control environment and robust risk management culture. He/she should also be able to work independently with minimal supervision, establish priorities, and possess strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Job Description – Operations Control Analyst
• Seeking a highly motivated and high-performing individual with a proven ability to deliver results in a dynamic global operations organization
• Able to proactively identify control deficiencies within Ops and proactively manage the remediation of those deficiencies across all businesses and support areas impacted
• Ability to take ownership of detailed reconciliations on all Operations owned accounts
• A self-starter who is comfortable in a complex role that interfaces regularly with global operations partners as well as various support teams
• Excellence in analysis and process improvement to eliminate recurring data quality issues
• Must possess a complete understanding of stock record reconciliations
• Knowledge of US Fixed Income Products and depositories
• Prioritize and manage own workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity

The accountabilities of the role include:
• Must be able to effectively communicate all outstanding reconciliation items, as well as to communicate steps for remediation
• Ensure timely and satisfactory resolution of all money differences and stock record breaks
• Participate fully as a member of the team, promote team effectiveness and contribute to a positive work environment
• Perform deep dives to determine root causes, review metric/trends, and remediation actions
• Escalate processing issues where necessary to ensure a high level of service is maintained
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, support process improvement initiatives
• Follow firm and industry regulations and operating practices in completing and recording transactions for either the firm or clients
• Escalate non-standard or high risk transactions or other activities as appropriate
• Ensure documentation prepared/ completed is accurate and properly reflects client/ business intentions and is consistent with relevant rules/ regulations
• Complete investigations- report/ escalate risk issues identified or process gaps
• Access systems, know and apply system capabilities, ensure upload/ download of information is completed timely and accurately


MUST HAVE:

• 5+ years of industry experience within a control role
• A strong ability to collaborate with others and a proven ability to make an impact
• Exceptional problem solving capabilities with an ability to identify steps for remediation
• Strong analytical skills + problem solving
• Finance Background required
• Background in reconciliation
• MS office
- Fixed income process and operations experience

2.) Previous finance or banking experience

EDUCATION:
Post secondary education preferred
