Adecco Medical and Science has a current job opportunity for Opthalmic Tech to work with one of my clients
in the Palo Alto, CA.

The Ophthalmic Tech will work in a dynamic atmosphere and as part of a large team in a supportive environment. Under the general supervision of the research nurse manager and study investigators, the Ophthalmic Tech performs an array of measurements and ophthalmic testing as required by the research study protocol. The role will be responsible for collaborating with multiple staff members, including coordinators and research assistants, physicians, nurses, and respiratory technicians. The Ophthalmic Tech will contribute to discussions to report project progress and trouble shoot barriers. 

Outstanding communication and organizational skills, the ability to proactively manage challenges, and strong attention to detail are required in a successful candidate. 
Duties include:

Provides appropriate instruction/education to research participants (5%)

Perform research related ophthalmic procedures including Keratometry/Corneal Topography, Optical Coherence Topography (OCT), Retinal Photography (80%)

Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, correct set-up, and assure safety and function of all equipment/supplies necessary. Conduct examination room inventory (5%)

Use Electronic Data Capture (EDC) system, technologies and software necessary for study operations. Enter data accurately. Complete Case Report Forms according to study protocol (10%)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED): High school diploma or GED equivalent and one (1) year of experience in a medical setting

Associate’s degree or equivalent in science related field such as biology

1 year of experience with ophthalmic testing specifically on research participants

Bilingual in Spanish preferred


Ability to establish and maintain excellent study participant relationship, exhibit exemplary interpersonal skills and exercise sound judgment and professionalism

Knowledge of ophthalmic environment and laboratory controls, methods, procedures and regulations

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Knowledge of accepted standards, policies, procedures and staff responsibilities

Proficiency with Microsoft Office
