Adecco -Medical & Science is looking for a Orthodontic Assistant for one of our leading clients in healthcare Industry in Palo Alto,CA.

This can be a contract -to -hire role with minimum contract period of 3 monthsand thren goes contract-to hire ($47K/ Year).

Contract- 3 Months (contract-to-hire)
Pay-$27/ hour
Experience- Minimum 3 years experience of hands on experience on patients
Qualification- High School Diploma Graduate
License - Must have Registered Dental Assistant or dental hygienist license in the state of CA.
*Good To have knowledge on English & Spanish

Job Description:


Responsibilities that include but not limited to the followings:

- Efficiently change arch wires, unties, and reties using single color ties, stainless steel ties, and power chains.
- Prepare for bonding and banding procedures, place the orthodontic cheek retractor, and place brackets intraorally and call for the doctor’s final placement. Cure the bonding material.
- Take braces and/or expanders off and clean the residual material to be confirmed by the doctor
- Break down the instruments before starting the procedure and wrap up the instruments after the procedures following the universal infection control protocol.
- Assist the doctor chairside for surgical procedures and provide the doctor’s instructions to the patient
- Check the fit of the lab works intraorally and have the doctor confirm and help finalize the installation
- Take impressions and trim the stone model, place labels on the models according to the doctor’s instruction for record keeping.
- Fit bands and take the pick up impressions
- Send out orthodontic lab works to the outside lab and check their return before patient’s next visit date
- Take intraoral and extraoral photos by the orthodontic photo standards and upload to Dolphin software.
- Check, order, and re-stock inventory in a timely manner
- Make essix retainers and have them ready in the retainer case with names on
- Use intraoral scanners for records and invisalign treatment
- Take iCAT and upload to Dolphin software
- Manage to have sufficient instruments are ready each procedure during the day
- Clean and organize the operatory and supplies containers for cleanness and tidiness at all time
- Open the chart and open the proper instrument set and have all materials/ supplies ready for use for each patient.
- Have knowledge how to sterilize the dirty instruments using the ultrasound cleaner and autoclave. Send out the used instruments to the hospital’s central sterilization facility and check their returns in a timely manner.
- Make notes in the Epic for the procedures done at each visit and have the doctor’s review and edit. Also type in the Epic the conversation of the doctor and the family on site for the doctor’s review and edit.
- Schedule the next appointment at the end of the visit.
- Review charts and schedules for the upcoming week to ensure all information needed is available and all coordination with other specialties has been communicated
- Generate lists of information in excel spreadsheet, following doctor’s instructions.
- Prepare things in advance for a smooth clinical flow for the times when the assistant is on vacation or off duty.
- Always prepare the clinic ready to avoid any predictable interferences during the clinic hour.

Orthodontic Assistant with at least 3 years of hands on experience on the patients in a group practice with multi-specialities including oral surgery and orthodontics or in orthodontics-only practices.
-Must be very familiar with the terminology for orthodontic material, supplies, and instruments.
-Must be fluent with taking the photos and impressions in order for the orthodontic office standard.
-Must have at least high school diploma equivalent or higher.
-Must be licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant or dental hygienist in the state of California.
-Bilingualism (English and Spanish) is strongly recommended.
-Proactive cleanness and organization skills are strongly recommended.
