Job Title: Outside Plant Engineer (Driving Required)

As a member of the team, you have a direct impact on design and feature enhancements to keep our systems running smoothly. You also ensure that our network is designed on time and within allocated budgets.

Our complex network generates a constant stream of challenges which require you to continually be innovative with an evolving set of technologies. Keeping the network design efficient and reliable ensures that our users stay connected with our suite of applications, products and services.

Top Skills Required:

  • FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) design experience.
  • Outside plant (OSP) experience.
  • Proven project management skills. 
  • End to End (Plan to Construction)
  • GIS Analysis Expertise.
  • Support the design cycle of the Outside Plant Fiber Network from preliminary design through to a fully constructible construction package.
  • Support new developments, network relocations and network upgrades.
  • Support finance metric development, reporting and dashboard reporting.
  • Review design plans, specs, and other documentation.
  • Create workflows and processes.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules
Mandatory Skills:
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in related field of studies.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • 5 years of telecommunication networks design experience.
  • Outside plant (OSP) experience.
  • Mastery of computer system including but not limited to Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Drive.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) design experience.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and creative problem-solving abilities under pressure.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and learn quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • GIS Experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Network Architecture and Equipment Expertise.
  • City of Austin, Austin Energy, and TXDOT Permitting Experience.
  • AutoCAD Drafting Experience.
  • GIS Analysis Expertise.
  • OCalc or other Pole Loading Analysis software Experience.
