Design, develop, and approve component and finished goods packaging that minimizes risk of product damage, presents the product optimally to the manufacturing operator, and maximizes pack density, all while minimizing cost.
Modify and improve existing component and finished good packaging.
Interact with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, purchasing, planning and quality to determine the most suitable design and quantity of packaging, and successfully implement these concepts on a defined timeline.
Coordinate with accounting to estimate total packaging costs for future programs, and work within a pre-determined budget for new programs.
Complete all necessary purchasing paperwork required to buy and receive new returnable packaging.
Facilitate and recommend packaging solutions based on current automotive industry best practices.
Coordinate packaging with the Industrial Engineering group and with the Warehouse group.
Coordinate labels with suppliers and the warehouse to validate content, format, and scanner readability.
Coordinate receipt of 1219 form with suppliers. The 1219 form is Bosch agreement with the supplier for their component¿s packaging.
Communicate updates to each product team¿s PMM timeline.
Support product teams, CIP activities and Policy Deployment objectives.
Maintain all applicable Packaging systems for inventory management, Engineering / specifications of packaging
