Responsibilities for this Packaging Operator position include:

  • Perform duties associated with the processing of components for all appropriate dosage forms.

  • Operate packaging equipment in accordance with batch records and standard operating procedures.

  • Assist OpTech in disassembly and reassembly of packaging equipment.

  • Clean packaging equipment in accordance with batch records and standard operating procedures.

  • Operate packaging equipment to meet all team production output goals.

  • Record batch processing information accurately in batch documents.

  • Assist team members in development/implementation of JDIs.

  • Assist engineering to develop equipment improvements, quality improvements and line performance improvements.

  • Participate in problem solving teams to resolve mechanical, process and safety issues.

  • Provide input to supervisor and team on equipment performance and daily output.

  • Understand OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) drivers and importance of achieving team output goals.

  • Utilize computers to access standard operating procedures, production schedules and material ordering and controls applications (i.e. SAP transactions as required).

  • Maintain high level of housekeeping of production equipment and associated areas.

  • Maintain a safe working environment by working according to JSAs.

  • Monitor production operations ensuring product quality and integrity.

  • Maintain a high level of quality of product and improve established efficiency and yield standards.

  • Perform all duties in accordance with SOPs, Zebulon Safety Procedures and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).

  • Perform material handling

  • Participate actively in BAPP Operator I (P08)


Education: HS diploma/GED or Associates degree (mechanical, Instrumentation or Pharmaceutical disciplines preferred); Bioworks Certificate preferred. 

Experience: 1 year production experience

Other: Ability to tolerate pharmaceutical chemicals; ability to stand for extended periods of time; heavy material movement may be required; requires use of steel toes shoes, eye protection, hearing protection and respirator/ dust mask in designated areas.


Overtime and shift work may be required, depending upon production schedules.
