Packaging Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Constant attention to detail
  • Hand packing and re-packing finished food goods as directed by Operator
  • Weigh out various quantities of product into tubs for tub line store orders
  • Assemble and package Store Displays
  • Meet daily production goals and standards
  • Responsible for monitoring quality  
  • Comply with all company Quality, HACCP, GMP and Food Safety Standards
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Ability to distinguish the difference in products used throughout the room
  • Communicate product information and lot codes with operator
  • Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment
  • Identify and communicate problems and production issues in a timely manner to operator
  • Interpret and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures
  • Perform specialized tasks at the direction of Quality Control or Research and Development personnel
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Help with any special projects that need to be completed
  • Check labels for accuracy

  • This position will ensure personal safety and provide protection and safeguarding of all company

      issued equipment and machinery used in daily operations

  • The position must ensure production goals and standards are met while maintaining the highest level

      of product quality

  • Carries out all responsibilities in accordance with ACG policies, procedures and applicable laws

 

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIP 

  • Must have an attention to detail methodology
  • Must perform in a high volume, extremely fast paced environment and be accurate to perfection
  • Though reporting to the Chocolate Supervisor, individual should be able to work independently upon task assignment, or in another department as needed
  • Must be able to work seamlessly with others on an in-line production team
  • Cross train into other production areas as required and defined by the Supervisor or Lead

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Read, write and speak English
  • Basic math skills – add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Read and interpret weight scales and tape measures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – must be a team player
  • Must have an excellent work ethic and be a self-starter
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • HACCP and GMP training
  • Ability to accept change at any given moment
  • Must be familiar with all products, Item numbers and lot code identification that are used within the department

 

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Basic knowledge or understanding of a manufacturing  environment – direct manufacturing experience not necessary
  • Prior food manufacturing, compounding, blending, cooking and preparation experience is preferred, but not mandatory.

 

 

EDUCATION     

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required
