ROLE: Paralegal
Location: Stamford, CT 06902
DURATION: 6 months
TYPE: Temporary
RATE: 30.00 to 35.00$ per hour



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Paralegal for NWNA will provide a broad range of legal support and administration to attorneys and other legal professionals.
Prepares responses to subpoenas, QDROs and other legal filings under the limited supervision of attorneys and HR.
Interfaces with outside counsel to manage the NWNA litigation chart.
Assists attorneys with HR, benefits and employment matters and with litigation including discovery requests.
Maintains litigation hold and e-discovery management system and corporate books and records.
Provides legal support with respect to insurance and risk management issues.
Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree is desirable.
Paralegal training and/or paralegal certificate is desirable.
5 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department with significant experience drafting commercial agreements with limited attorney supervision is required.
Experience handling litigation, trademark issues, and/or HR/employment matters is desirable.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite is required.
Proficiency with Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis legal databases is desirable.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Requires strong analytical and organization skills
Must be able to function in a team-oriented environment using independent judgment
Ability to evaluate and determine appropriate course of action to meet business unit needs
Ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, subordinates, and external company contacts
