Business Need:
Special project working on regulatory deliverables. The project will be supporting credentialed bank regulators. Candidates will be working in the compliance department not the legal department.

Daily Duties:
Looking for candidates to help with banking regulations, laws, review specific banking regulations. This will include banking securities and services. Will be looking at spreadsheets with regulations. Need to look at those sheets critically and see risk events and if they need to consolidate them. Will build out controlled objectives that will map to examination procedures.

Will report directly to hiring manager on the request.

Why would a candidate be interested?
Would give someone with experience in banking to have the opportunity to obtain a role in banking compliance. Gives people a foot in the door in the banking and financial services medium.
Past Exp/Skills:
Someone who has banking experience that has worked in a law firm would be a great fit.
Great candidate would be someone with banking experience and excel skills.
5-7 years’ experience mandatory
Performance: successful execution of deliverables given. Must meet deadlines.
Top 3 Skills: Excel, critical thinking, highly organized.

Interviews: Phone and Face to Face.

Schedule:
M-F 8-5. The pay rate is $29.50/hr.

Workspace: Open work space.




Summary:
The main function of a legal secretary paralegal is to assist lawyers by researching legal precedent, investigating facts, or preparing legal documents. A typical paralegal is responsible for conducting research to support a legal proceeding, formulate a defense or to initiate legal action.

Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare legal documents, including briefs, pleading, appeals, wills, contracts, and real estate closing statements.

• Prepare affidavits or other documents, maintain document file, and file pleadings with court clerk.

• Gather and analyze research data, such as statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, and documents.

• Investigate facts and law of cases to determine causes of action and to prepare cases.

• Direct and coordinate law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas.

Qualifications:
• High School graduate and graduate from accredited paralegal school or 6-8 years equivalent training required in lieu of education.
• 5-7 years experience required.
• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
• Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, and the democratic political process.
• Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
