Adecco is assisting a local organization in their search for a Part-time Accounting Clerk in Duluth, MN. This position is expected to be temporary with potential for permanent hire in the future. Responsibilities include day-to-day fiscal operations under supervision of the Director of Finance in accounts payable, financial record updates/maintenance, and assisting with clerical backup support as needed. Responsibilities of a Part-time Accounting Clerk include:


  • -Update and maintenance of all related fiscal policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy; working with the Director of Finance to update all policies and procedures

  • -Prepare spreadsheets, models, graphics, and special reports as needed

  • -Assist in the preparation of bank and investment account transfers, as needed

  • -Assist the Director of Finance in monitoring and keeping record of checking account accuracy

  • -Maintain accounts payable records

  • -Providing research assistance on contributions and grand records, as needed

  • -Manually and electronically file documents

  • -Audit records to ensure accuracy

  • -Assisting the Director of Finance with general journal voucher support and preparation

  • -Annual 1099 processing

  • -Maintenance of fixed asset records, as needed

  • -Assist with monthly financial statement preparation and reconciliations of operating accounts

  • -Assist with annual audit tax schedules and audit preparation

  • -Working with outside auditors, financial institutions and investment managers

  • -Frequently updating data and assisting with data entry

  • -Support the Director of Finance with clerical duties, as needed

  • -Other related tasks may be assigned



  • Qualifications:


  • -3-5 years relevant work experience

  • -2-year degree or higher in business, accounting, or finance is preferred in addition to work experience

  • -Strong Microsoft Excel/Spreadsheet skills

  • -Self-starter attitude with ability to work with others in an office setting

  • -Dedicated to quality and accuracy

  • -Ability to pay strong attention to detail in a busy office setting

  • -Proven ability to adapt quickly to new tasks and training

  • -Strong interpersonal skills needed

  • -Basic office tasks may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs

  • -An interest in Non-Profit, community involvement, and an appreciation for charitable giving is a plus!



  • This position is 20 hours per week between 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Monday-Friday. Compensation is $18-$20 per hour.
