Contract Assisgnment - Part Time Product Engineer in Wilsonville, OR

Title: Part Time Product Engineer
Max Pay Rate: $44.00/hr.

Hours: 9a-2p, M-F

Description: The Senior Product Engineer will execute administrative and engineering/technical functions in support of the goals established for the Power Center’s manufacture of high quality Power Distribution equipment & aftermarket products; Primary focus on the mechanical engineering of our products.

a) Prepare drawings/MI’s for shop personnel to assemble power distribution equipment and aftermarket products.
b) Provide technical support for customers and plant personnel
c) Maintain engineering schedule to ensure drawings are released and parts are ordered in time to support the Production build schedule
d) Prepare Engineering drawings for team to ensure these items are manufactured on time to meet customer commitments
e) Act as backup to the Power Distribution Sales Engineer in the product line to provide technical support to the customers and engineers.
f) Maintain good working relationships with customers, distributors, sales personnel and internal plant personnel in support of a quality customer service effort
g) Maintain and encourage an air of teamwork among others
h) Act as technical resource in support of our Engineering teams and production.
i) Stay abreast of our client's technical product developments through training or other means
j) Perform all applicable POM uploads and changes
k) Electrical & mechanical design using AutoCAD
l) Support Warranty Technician and investigate warranty requests to determine root cause and solutions for customers
m) Inventor design

a) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
b) 2 years of applicable engineering experience
c) Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

a) Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
b) 2 years of experience designing and applying power distribution and control equipment
c) Experience with Power Distribution Equipment
d) Experience with applications (Bidman and VISTA)

a) Ability to problem-solve and analyze product application issues and drive them to root cause resolution
b) Ability to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously
c) Ability to prioritize jobs and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
d) Must be able to work well in a small team environment
e) Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with internal peers and customers
f) Must be a strong team player that enjoys a fast paced environment
g) Strong verbal and written communication skill
h) Knowledge of basic electricity
i) Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
j) Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
k) Working knowledge of AutoCAD
l) Inventor knowledge
