Job Title: Patient Service Rep
Pay: 15/hr
Location: Columbia, MD
Temp to Perm': 3 month contract - Temp to Perm
Full time: 40 hours per week
Shift: 11:30am-8pm but need to have flexibility from 8am to 8pm

What Specialty Pharmacy contributes to the business
Specialty Pharmacy is responsible for fulfilling customer requests, resolving customers' technical problems, and responding to customers' questions through on-site and telephone contact.
Accountabilities in this role Duties include data entry in a specialty pharmacy mail order environment, entering patient demographics into computer system, answering multiple phone lines and place outgoing calls to patients, prescribers and insurance companies. Will only be interfacing with customers by phone.

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working in a pharmacy, doctor’s office, or medical billing is desired
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Detail-oriented
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including while speaking with patients
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Ability to listen and take direction effectively
• Able to handle change within workflow processes
• Experience with prior authorization is a plus

What is expected of you and others at this level
• Manage inbound calls and make outbound calls related to setting up medication orders, working with medical providers, patients, and other pharmacy staff to ensure patients receive their medication in a timely manner
• Consistently interacts with patients and coworkers in a patient and professional manner while following HIPAA guidelines.
• Enter demographic patient information from prescriptions accurately and coordinate deliveries
• Fill out and fax doctor offices prior authorization forms
• Contact insurance companies and doctor offices to follow up on prior authorizations
• Collect payment for medications and coordinate deliveries.
• Assist with administrative and operations duties as-needed
• Enter detailed progress notes into patients’ medical records thoroughly and accurately
