Payroll Analyst

Start Date: 7/1/2019 or ASAP

Location: Kansas City, MO

Duration / Length: 1/1/2020 - 6 months with possible extension of assignment

Maximum Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour / Adecco W2

Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
 

Summary of the job: Support parallel testing by reconciling errors and analyzing data to ensure Workday accurately processes payroll. Completes assigned testing of payroll related system functionality.
There may be opportunities for overtime if the project requires it.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Compiles payroll data form current and new system; enters data into new payroll system; reviews wages computed and compares to current payroll system; corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll in new system.
• Verifies accuracy of employee and employer payroll tax calculations
• Analyzes and reconciles output reports by performing calculations, comparisons, and payroll count tests.
• Ensures accurate pay related calculations in Workday based on comparisons to data within PeopleSoft
• Executes payroll related testing in all testing cycles
• Other duties as assigned.

Required skills/experience/education:
• A minimum of six hours college level accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• A minimum of two years’ experience in payroll processing in a multi-state environment.
• Ability to organize work in order to achieve critical defined deadlines.
• Demonstrated analytical skills including analysis of large reports and cause and effect relationships.
• Through knowledge of the Wage and Hour as well as other payroll-related laws and regulations.
• Advanced numerical ability, reading comprehension, and interpretation skills.
• Understanding and previous use of a Windows-based computer system.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Preferred (nice to have) skills/experience education:
• Associates Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Workday payroll experience.
• PeopleSoft payroll processing experience.
