Payroll Coordinator

Adecco Staffing is currently assisting our client in their search for 6 Payroll Coordinators.  These are 90 day temp-to-hire opportunities with a well-known, growing company, headquartered in Topeka, KS.  The Payroll Coordinator  is responsible for processing payrolls and payroll tax reports for various clients, as assigned.
 

Our client is willing to train candidates who have excellent computer skills, and have an aptitude for reconciliation   (ensuring that two sets of records are in agreement).

Location: Topeka, KS
Hours: M-F, 8 AM - 5 PM, with mandatory OT
Duration: 90 day temp-to-hire
Pay: $15-$18/hr, BOE

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Set up and maintain payroll database for clients assigned
  • Research federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements
  • Research workers compensation requirements for each client 
  • Receive and organize payroll hours worked, including employee new hire and changed information
  • Enter employee information received to payroll database, process payroll and prepare paychecks and process various payroll journals and reports each payroll cycle
  • Review garnishments orders received, compute deduction required, and enter to employee's deduction file
  • Prepare annual W-2s and magnetic reporting required
  • Review payrolls, tax deposits, and quarterly payroll reports 
QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED):
  • Individuals at this level normally have a High School diploma 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office products
  • Strong customer service skills
 
PREFERRED:
  • Payroll or accounting experience.
  • Prior experience working in a CPA firm.
