Client has an immediate opening for a Payroll Specialist with 5-7 years of payroll experience near the Intercontinental Airport in our Houston, TX office. You must have current payroll experience and working knowledge of in-house multi-state payroll administration and human resources and benefits processes related to payroll administration. This position will primarily support the Payroll Supervisor and become proficient with a full in-house payroll process in a fast-paced environment. The responsibilities for this position may also include a variety of administrative tasks including, but not limited to; filing, data entry, fielding phone calls, and employment verifications. You must have demonstrated enthusiasm, a stellar work ethic, a �can do� spirit and superior communication and organizational skills. This position will also require someone with a strong attention to detail. Must be willing to work an irregular schedule with extended hours, as needed, to meet payroll deadlines and work well under pressure. An ideal candidate will have a desired career path in the payroll field.

Ongoing activities:
� Assist Payroll Supervisor with the weekly payroll processing of approx. 900 field employees
� Review weekly toursheets for accuracy of hours/positions reported by Rig Managers
� Data entry of employee data, timesheets, and other various payroll data
� Full payroll administration including making payments through Expert Pay and check requests for all multistate garnishments, i.e., child support withholding orders, bankruptcies, tax levies, etc.
� Data entry and processing of operator bonuses as they are received
� Serve as a backup for weekly toursheet data imports
� Serve as backup to other Payroll Specialists
� Provide payroll assistance to Rig Managers and Drilling Superintendents
� Working knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations
� Other duties such as filing, employment verifications, and assisting with payroll reports, as needed

� Bachelor�s degree or 5-7 years current multi-state payroll experience is required
� Advanced user of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
� Demonstrated experience with an in-house payroll processing system
� Payroll certification (CPP) and Drilling Contractor experience is preferred but not required
� Working knowledge of human resources and benefits as it relates to payroll procedures and federal/state laws
� Excellent communications skills
� Strong spelling and grammar skills
� Ability to work in a fast paced environment and provide great attention to detail
� Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
