Payroll Specialist

Adecco is assisting an national indoor fitness park in recruiting for a Payroll Specialist in Sterling, VA. This position would be a Contract - to - Hire opportunity!  

The Payroll Specialist will handle all matters relating to the payment of the Team Members of the organization. The Specialist will be responsible for the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for over 1,000 Team Members 15 states. Hours: Monday - Friday: standard business hours
Pay: $18.00/hr. - $22.00/hr. based on experience
Location: Sterling, VA

Responsibilities of a Payroll Specialist:

  • Perform all activities necessary to process accurate payroll on a bi-weekly basis for 1,000+ Team Members.

  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.

  • Process new hires, terminations, rate changes, etc. into the payroll system (ADP Workforce Now) and ensure all is prepared for bi-weekly processing.

  • Review and verify time and attendance records; resolve issues.

  • Respond quickly, accurately and professionally to Team member / manager payroll inquiries.

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining Team member records.

  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting as required (e.g. – W-2, etc.).

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll related questions; research and resolve errors and discrepancies.

  • Add 401K deductions and benefits deductions as needed, review for accuracy once automated.

  • Manage required duties related to tax filings, deposits and returns.

  • Qualifications for a PayrollSpecialist:

  • Minimum of three years of high-volume payroll processing experience.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now required.
  • Possess a high school diploma; two or four-year college degree is a plus.

  • Knowledgeable about federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines, multi-task, and extreme attention to detail is essential.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to take initiative; attentive, assertive, confident, and willing to take appropriate action to accomplish tasks;

  • Ability to anticipate problems and act accordingly.
