Pay Rate: 57/hr

Top Five Responsibilities

1. Inspect and verify prescriptions and prescription data entered into the pharmacy computer system for accuracy.
2. Answer inbound phone calls from physician offices to clarify prescription orders, take quick consult calls from support personnel, and calls from another pharmacy to transfer a prescription in or out of our facility.
3. Utilize clinical skills to perform Drug Utilization Reviews
4. Perform DOE (direct order entry) for new prescriptions
5. Work in the fulfillment area to provide the final quality check prior to medication being packed and shipped.

Knowledge and Skills:

Fully understands pharmacy reimbursement issues (third party insurance, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, formulary management) Understands the processes and procedures necessary to remedy on-line claim rejections. Up to date clinical skills - (through current work practice or demonstrated upon interview).

Technology Basic knowledge of MS Windows operating system. Basic to intermediate skills using MS Office applications (MS Word and MS Excel at a minimum). Experience using email systems - MS Outlook or Outlook Express preferred but not required.

Ability to process prescriptions in a pharmacy software application. Experience using a web browser (Internet Explorer preferred but not required). Experience using on-line clinical references and accessing professional (clinical and regulatory) internet sites preferred. Experience working with on-screen document images.

Language: Fluent English speaking skills. Able to communicate effectively and professionally in writing. Interpersonal: Able to work effectively in team environment and interact with colleagues in a professional and supportive manner.

Able to communicate effectively and at the appropriate level with healthcare professionals, peers and consumers. Strong customer service skills including knowledge of standard phone etiquette, problem solving and customer interfacing skills. Organized, detail oriented and excellent on follow-up.
