Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Pay: 17/hr
Location: Columbia, MD
Temp to Perm': 3 month - temp to perm
Full time: 40 hours per week
Shift: 11:30am-8pm but need to have flexibility from 8am to 8pm

Description of Work:
Specialty Pharmacy is responsible for fulfilling customer requests, resolving customers' technical problems, and responding to customers' questions through on-site and telephone contact.
Registered Pharmacy Technician in State of MD. Duties include filling prescriptions in a specialty pharmacy mail order environment, entering data into computer system, answering multiple phone lines. Must have experience in adjudicating a claim. Will only be interfacing with customers by phone.
• Manage inbound calls and make outbound calls related to setting up medication orders, working with medical providers, patients, and other
pharmacy staff to ensure patients receive their medication in a timely manner
• Consistently interacts with patients and coworkers in a patient and professional manner while following HIPAA guidelines.
• Receive and resolve issues over the phone & route appropriately, including troubleshooting of claims issues
• Enter new and/or refill prescriptions accurately and coordinate deliveries
• Collect and enter insurance data and conduct benefit investigations
• Collect payment for medications
• Assist with administrative and operations duties as-needed
• Enter detailed progress notes into patients’ medical records thoroughly and accurately

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Maryland Pharmacy Technician License, active and in good standing
• National Pharmacy Technician certification preferred
• 2 years of previous pharmacy experience, preferably in a high volume environment
• Retail pharmacy and/or Specialty pharmacy experience preferred
• Must have experience in adjudicating a prescription insurance claim and resolving insurance issues
• Prior authorization experience is a plus
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
