A Pharmacy Technician job opportunity needs to be filled immediately by Adecco Medical & Science. This is a minimum 6-month contract opportunity in Columbus, Ohio. Under supervision of Pharmacy Manager, performs designated technical and clerical tasks associated with the preparation, labeling and dispensing of medications, including sterile admixtures and prepackaged or unit dose drugs. In addition, performs designated tasks regarding pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, inventory control and preparation of orders for drugs. Directs and schedules technical staff for work activities and provides direction in completing daily responsibilities. This position may also provide minor or initial counseling to technical staff that is required on an immediate basis. This position is a minimum 6-month contract-hire position.

The Pharmacy Technician job responsibilities include:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of high school diploma required. College education or vocational training desirable.
Licensure as required by the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy, active and in good standing.
Current and active certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required.
Minimum of three years of pharmacy technician experience, home infusion or specialty pharmacy experience of at least one year is preferred.
Must be knowledgeable of various computer programs, such as Microsoft word, excel, etc. and able to learn pharmacy and other related operating software.
Proficient in aseptic technique and intravenous solution compounding.
Knowledge of basic drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations and drug use.
Experience in sterile compounding and cleanroom maintenance requirements preferred.
Must be able to communicate and problem solve effectively with a variety of professional disciplines such as hospital staff, physician office staff, nursing services as patients and their families. Must possess both verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal relationship skills and problem-solving skills.
Requires independent thinking, excellent communication, listening, writing, and analytical skills.
Requires strong organizational, operational and time management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
Must be able to solve mathematical problems.
Be able to meet the attendance, overtime and on-call and other reliability requirements of the job.
Have the manual dexterity, eye hand coordination, fine and gross motor skills and tactile abilities to perform such functions as necessary to scope of practice.
Be capable of working with highly technical equipment.
Lift 0-10 pounds frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally.
Bend, stand, walk, squat, reach and stretch frequently.
