Adecco is assisting a local client in recruiting Press Assisting job in Burbank.  This is a long term temporary opportunity.  If you meet the qualifications listed below please Apply Now!

 

  • Read and understand work order and verify the product has right paper, bind type, ink color and run lengths.
  • Learn all phases of the press operation
  • Understand paper – weights, ppi, size, grain, coating, marking and storage
  • Perform all preventive maintenance on assigned press.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with machine repair
  • Set up and monitor feeder for smooth operation and proper registration of sheets.
  • Learn to interpret the information on the work order and its contents.
  • Assist Operator as needed.
  • Exercise initiative, ask questions and look for ways of improving quality output.
  • Run press efficiently in temporary absence of Operator.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience: 

Level 3:  High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.

 

Language Skills:

Level 2/3:  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

 

Mathematical Skills:

Level 3.  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Level 4.  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Business Judgment:

Level 1:  Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures in a professional and consistent manner. Able to apply common sense understanding and use appropriate judgment in routine business situations with supervisor, co-workers and customers.

Technical Skills:

Ability to work with the following software packages or programs:

  • Microsoft Office, Flex, and PrintStream at the beginning level
  • Effective email and electronic communication skills are required

 

Ability to work with the following tools or machinery:

  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Pallet mover
  • Knives:  razor, hand, ink
  • Plate bender
