Print Production Manager
Pay Rate: $40hr
Duration: 7 months, potential extension
Location: NYC

Our educational publishing client is in need of an Production Manager. We’re looking for someone who can start as early as next week and no later than the following week, and who will be available for the duration of a large program expected to last several months.

The most important traits for this position will be having working experience with a Educational Publishing company in Print Production.

The print production candidate need organizational and communication skills, with the ability to track numerous components at various stages of development, across internal and external teams.

The responsibilities and job qualifications from the job req are as follows:


• Coordinate all aspects of production from manuscript to press-ready files, as assigned by the Director of Production, in concert with all stakeholders, ensuring adherence to schedule and budget
• Resolve or escalate queries throughout the production process, in consultation with the Director of Production, Art Directors, and Editorial staff
• Create, revise, and maintain production schedules, as assigned, for weekly production status meeting
• Traffic files between departments and outside vendors using WoodWing’s Enterprise database publishing system
• Assist with the processing of production-related invoices and vendor contracts
• Maintain digital archives of completed products

Job Qualifications/Requirements:
• Thorough understanding of principles of print production
• 8+ years relevant work experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing the needs of multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Mac OS, Adobe InDesign CC, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and the Microsoft Office suite of apps.
• Proven ability to diplomatically implement workflow standards and achieve buy-in from all stakeholders
• Familiarity with WoodWing Enterprise or K4 publishing systems a plus
• Knowledge of AppleScript or JavaScript a plus
