Position Summary: The Process Engineer will have knowledge of processes in a steel producing facility including Metallurgy, Threading, Welding, Heat Treating, Steel Making and Inspections. The purpose of this position is to provide daily support for continuous improvement processes including root-cause analysis, KPI tracking, implementation of LEAN and Six Sigma activities and proactively identifying process improvement activities.

Primary responsibilities of the Process Engineer will include:

Management of the reengineering of existing business to improve efficiency
Provide access to accurate, real-time, process information
Analyzing current processes using value-stream mapping, flowcharting and visual tools
Define best practices through benchmarking, research and professional associations
Establish, monitor and measure process metrics
Develop process improvement projects and work cross-functionally to deploy standard operating procedures and continuous improvements methodologies
Support and sustain employee engagement strategies


Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related field
Minimum of 4 years related experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of Metallurgy and Threading, Welding, Heat treating, Steel making and Inspections
Demonstrated experience using LEAN and Six-Sigma methodologies
Project management experience including budget management and capital improvement
Root-cause analysis and corrective action experience
Excellent communication skills with the ability to relay technical information to various professional and non-technical audiences
Must be a U.S. citizen who does not now, or in the future, require sponsorship

This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary commensurate with experience. Typical working hours are Monday-Friday, daylight hours, with overtime as needed. Our client offers a very generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, production bonus and vacation.
