Who You Are

  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role or related field within a high-volume manufacturing facility, including 5+ years of hands-on process engineering experience in a high-volume, hot chamber, zinc die casting operation.
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving high OEE performance within a hot chamber die casting operation.
  • Demonstrated ability functioning as a key member of a cross functional team in Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Practical experience in high volume zinc /aluminum Die Casting operations, including primary and secondary equipment selection, workflow/cell organization, and operational troubleshooting.   Metallurgical background would be beneficial.
  • Practical experience in the deployment of lean principles such as 5S, Waste Elimination, TAKT, Standard Work, Work-cell Design and Material Flow.
  • Formal training of AIAG tools such as APQP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA
  • Formal training in a structured approach to Problem Solving.
  • Practical experience in the design and execution of both Semiautomatic and Manual Assembly Work-cells, optimizing labor balance and part presentation
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing engineering principals across a variety of processes.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and working knowledge of 3D modeling software, such as Auto-Cad.

    What You’ll Do
    As a Process Engineer you’ll be part of our Global Tools & Storage team located in Cheraw, SC. Specifically, you’ll:

  • Daily engagement in factory floor based rapid Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement of assigned products and processes, driving best in class performance relative to Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Assist with efforts to provide continuous improvement to the environmental, health, and safety roadmap to achieve plant-wide goals.
  • Utilize OEE data such as downtime, scrap, efficiencies, capacity, etc. to plan and strategize countermeasures for equipment and process problems.
  • Facilitate the development and deployment of documented Standard Work for assigned processes.
  • Apply Lean Thinking to every problem solved and every opportunity encountered.
  • Function as an agent of positive change by leading formal kaizen activities as required to drive Continuous Improvement to processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment.
  • Function as the site lead for Project Management and implementation of assigned New Product/Process Development and Launch.
  • Ownership/Management of year-over-year cost reduction Productivity improvement projects
  • Benchmark available technologies on an ongoing basis, identify opportunities to improve our business, and provide primary automation and IoT direction for the facility.
  • Project management of Capital Projects required for assigned Products & Processes.
