Overview: Adecco direct-hire group is working with a client located in Pittsburgh, PA who has an immediate need for an experienced Process Engineer. Our client is a national leader in third-party manufacturing of electronic and electromechanical devices. Clients lean on their expertise to deliver robust evaluations for complex problems with expectations of on-time delivery, problem resolution and a customized solution.

Position Summary: The Process Engineer is responsible for working with all departments to reduce cost, improve efficiency, increase quality and reduce production time. This position will work largely with electro-mechanical devices, Surface-Mount (SMT) technologies and Printed Circuit Boards (PCB’s). Failure investigation, Root-Cause Analysis and Corrective Action will be integral to meeting customer expectations.

As the Process Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Evaluation of new and existing production processes with the intent to deliver the most efficient, cost-effective and productive processes possible
Develop standard operating procedures (SOP’s), assembly instructions, workmanship standards and process documents
Work closely with the design engineering team to accomplish:Coordinate with production planning and scheduling

Design for Cost
Design for Test
Design for Manufacturability
Design for Assembly



Coordination with suppliers
Research of new manufacturing technologies
Program and calibrate manufacturing and inspection equipment


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related technical field
Minimum of 10 years progressive relevant experience in an electronic or electromechanical environment
Prior experience with circuit card assembly Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes and equipment including: Programming, Setup and Operation
Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001
LEAN manufacturing experience (certifications preferred)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, process sheets and wiring diagrams
Experience in a ISO-9000, 13485 or AS-9000 environment
Advanced level skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook)
Ability to travel as needed
