The IDZ Paint Technician provides technical support for paint, decoration and injection molding manufacturing technologies. The technician participates actively and in a coordinated fashion with the internal customers and suppliers to support new production releases.

Activities include basic fixture design using 2D or 3D CAD as well as presentations, statistics, and reports. Successful Paint Technicians will have ability to work alone or in a team environment, be a self-starter and be mechanically inclined and will have good Excel/software skills.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Runs trials to develop new paint and decorating processes and technologies.
• Assists in the implementation of new processes in production: Proof of Concept through Production Pilot.
• Works with R&D, QA, and production to meet internal qualification protocol.
• Assists in initiation, review, and following of all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
• Assists and or writes easy to follow, step-by-step work instructions on equipment operation and process procedures.
• May conduct one-on-one and/or group training sessions for these work instructions.
• Assists with sample trial runs and executes sampling plans.
• Performs time studies.
• Assists in managing small scope projects from equipment assessment through installation and start-up.
• Assists with quality improvement projects for the paint process;
• Works safely and maintains a safe, organized and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed.

• High School diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree or certification from a technical school, highly desired.
• 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with paint application and injection molding
• Demonstrate basic chemical, electrical, and mechanical skills.
• General knowledge of production control / scheduling systems.
• General knowledge of lean concepts.
• Good interpersonal skills able to work well with a wide variety of individuals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities, and work environment.
• Experience using MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks (or other CAD software)
