Process Technician Level 5 - Injection Molding

International molding company and plastic manufacturer based in Miami has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Plastics Process Technician running injection molding equipment within in Production team at the facility in Miami, FL. Under limited supervision the candidate will be able to remove, install, and set-up an injection molding machine to meet company quality standards.

Minimum Job Requirements

What we are looking for:

· Strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical skills including troubleshooting.
·5+ years of experience working with injection molding equipment including machine adjustment, troubleshooting and mold installation and removal
· Acquired knowledge of layouts, materials, equipment and devices as to the design, purpose, production and operation related to plastic injection molding
· Familiarity with electrical schematics and diagrams along with knowledge of electronic process controls
· Familiarity with automation and robotics
· Detail oriented
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Good mathematical aptitude
· Effective computer skills
· Scientific molding mindset (RJG)
· Ability to lift 50 LBS with no assistance

· Injection Molding Essentials Certified (RJG)
· Systematic Molding Certified (RJG)
· Decoupled Molding Certified (RJG)
· Basic eDART (RJG or equivalent)
· Advanced eDART (RJG or equivalent)

Essential Functions

The primary mission of our Technicians is to operate injection molding equipment to successfully meet production demands and quality standards. Duties include but are not limited to:

· Utilize your mechanical skills to install, remove and adjust Injection Molding machinery and equipment
· Troubleshoot Injection Molding machines, follow process to resolve failures, other problems
· Perform set-up of molds for all mold changes
· Assist in preventative maintenance and repair of molding machines, molds and robots.
· Coordinates and sets up machines, robots and other equipment performing necessary tests to ensure company compliance. Trains employees in the correct procedures for operation as needed
· Perform cleaning and general maintenance tasks
· Maintain a safe work environment following company’s safety, ISO standards
· Achieve adequate production levels while maintaining the expected product quality
· Ensure molded components meet all product quality criteria including dimensional criteria
· Communicate to supervisor and other technicians and document all technical information and issues
· Participate in reducing the rate of scrap
· Assists in training of employees in proper work methods for safe and efficient performance of job duties
· Maintains records, files and other documentation pertinent to assignments
· Assumes additional responsibilities as required
Specific Tasks
· Stop machine
· Clean mold surface
· Spray Hetero Mold with mold saver
· Blowout the waterlines
· Pull custom mold
· Set new mold
· Load proper machine and eDART program
· Match machine curves on eDART
· Match cavity pressure curves on eDART
· Document process changes
· Start machine
· Submit samples to quality
· Troubleshoot any quality defects found in quality
· Able to perform all Spyder 1, 2, Technician Level 1, 2, 3, and 4 duties
· Transfer molds from machine to machine using Scientific Molding
· Sample new molds coming in-house
· Perform Machine validations
o Check-ring Studies
