Procurement Coordinator - Entry Level - Great For A Recent Grad!

Adecco is assisting a local client in the Pataskala, OH area in their need to hire a consultant for a long term  assignment for about 8 months. The consultant in this role will work with the procurement team for all non-merchandise sourcing. The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate with a business degree who has strong Excel skills and would be interested in gaining some experience.  

 

Duties:

  • Participates in the selection and implementation of category supplier sourcing strategies to ensure high quality, on time delivery and cost competitiveness.
  • Spend and bid analysis, calculation of historical baseline pricing, savings, final proposal cost impacts and creation of awarding scenarios with category manager(s)
  • Recommends and participate in the category strategy, processes, and procedures that are consistent with corporate policy, project requirements and sound commercial, legal and ethical practices.
  • Identifies and engages services of new suppliers in support of category requirements.
  • Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids to suppliers through sourcing process.
  • Works with stakeholders to control expenses, stay within budget, and to ensure consistency in pricing, product and delivery.
  • Forecast requirements for categories based on historical data, understanding of the business cycle, including store openings and closings, and understanding of item-specific needs based on business activity.
  • Evaluate buying decisions based on item cost, lead time, freight impact, minimum order requirements, space considerations, risk of obsolescence, etc. to deliver lowest landed cost while maintaining high service levels.

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have a broad knowledge of the Procurement function, in-depth knowledge of Finance functions; retail industry knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent financial skills; knows how to use and interpret metrics such as NPV, ROI, and IRR
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships of trust and credibility with internal customers that lead to stronger buy-in and commitment from internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Procurement tools such as: SAP/Oracle, Iasta or Ariba.
  • Outstanding analytical and Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Flexibility to execute, adapt, prioritize and multi-task in an ever-changing environment at a high growth company.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and possesses ability to work independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven organizational skills.
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritize demands of job strong communications skills; able to articulate complex financial topics for technical audiences.
