Job Duration: 6 Month Contract until April 21, 2019 (possible extension or conversion)
Pay Rate $17.50 per hour
Shift: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Responsible for the creation of purchase orders and the planning of material related to New Product Introductions and sustaining engineering changes, follow up with suppliers to deliver on time and expedite if necessary to meet project timelines. Closely monitors engineering changes and coordinates with cross functional teams the introduction of changes into production. Provides other support to production, quality, engineering in managing PPAP approvals and deviations with suppliers and manages the smooth transition of changes into full production.


Plans all purchased parts affected by New Products Introductions and Sustaining Engineering changes. Make decisions to release, firm, cancel, or defer work based upon current inventory, demand, project timeline and capacity. Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support production plan.
Places and maintains purchase orders for raw materials. Works with suppliers to expedite or defer materials as dictated by changes in internal and external customer requirements and to meet production, product timeline and inventory objectives. Works independently with suppliers to manage material supply to ensure on time deliveries.
Facilitates problem resolutions with Quality, PMO, Sourcing and Engineering related to PPAP, deviations, delivery and pricing.
Maintains accurate purchase order information in the MAPICS system. Modifies order release due dates, quantities, and closes purchase orders, etc, based on planning demand.
Monitors engineering changes to ensure ECN instructions are clear and compiled. Works with Production and Purchasing to stop procurement of material affected by change. Keeps designated engineers informed of ECN implementation status; coordinates proper rotation of inventory to minimize scrap/reworked parts at incorporation time. Reviews bill of material changes and updates MAPICS system with planner, lead times, order policy information to ensure proper planning of new parts into production. Provides input to effectivity decisions and monitors inventory levels of new and old parts to minimize cost impact. Facilitates the Engineering Change until incorporation.
Works closely with Supply Chain project execution team to coordinate resources for the successful launch of new products.
Works closely with the Plant’s Material planning organization to transition the planning of material introduced to the production lines.


Must have experience in purchasing and processing Purchase Orders.
Must be able to speak with Suppliers to coordinate purchasing of parts and follow up to ensure products arrive on time. Experience with New Product Introductions is preferred.
Bachelor's degree required.
