Title: Controller I
Pay: $32/hour
Duration: 6+ months
Location: Morrisville (Raleigh) NC


Overview of business area or project: Product Controller supporting the Corporate Bank. This includes analysis of daily P&L as well as other month end and quarter end responsibilities. Interact with the business as well as Financial Accounting, Middle Office and Operations.

Key Responsibilities: Primary responsibility is to be the Line Controller for Corporate Bank products, which include loans, credit default swaps and securities; Analyze and validate daily P&L to ensure accuracy. Perform month-end reconciliation between the sub ledger and ledger. Interact with FO to resolve any open issues. Liaise with RMM, FA and other support areas of the bank.

Overview of department/team: Product Control are the Financial Guardians of the Bank's sales and trading activities. We fulfill this role through: Ensuring complete, accurate and timely P&L, Balance Sheets analysis. The independent validation of the value of our trading portfolios. Working with the businesses and the new business product groups to evaluate & integrate new products and businesses into our financial environment in a controlled manner. The provision of reliable and meaningful financial information to the business managers, external stakeholders and other relevant internal constituents.

Individuals within Product Control (PC) job family are responsible for executing the Daily, Monthly and Quarterly Control aspects of the business in their primary role as financial guardians of the Bank's sales and trading activities. They are responsible for ensuring complete, accurate and timely P+L and Balance Sheets.

This role supports the Corporate Bank Lending division. Products include: Loans, Credit Default Swaps, and equity securities . The Product Controller will work closely with the trading desk, trade support, technology, financial control and other infrastructure areas to ensure timely and accurate reporting of the trading desks’ results including daily P&L reporting, management commentaries, and exception processing.

Essential skills and qualifications: Candidates must be highly attentive to risk and recognize the importance of a solid control environment, showing a high attention to detail in all aspects of their work. They must also possess highly developed analytic, interpersonal and communication skills to enable them to develop relationships with their key clients and to understand and address their issues. Experience with Excel such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s, SUMIF’s and other formulas.

Desired skills and qualifications: Team player, proactive, self-starter, who can be dynamic. PeopleSoft skills, accounting and journal entry experience, loan and/or derivative experience.

Years of Experience suggested: 2-4 years
