Position: Product Designer (Entry Level)

Location: Princeton, New Jersey

Duration: 6 months contract/ likely extensions

Position Summary:

The New Product Development team helps to break new grounds and to capitalize into new market space. The Product Designer Apprentice Program is for junior- to mid- level product designers (recent graduated students and design professionals with 1 -2 years of experience) who are strong in two or more of the following skill areas/traits, product design, technical skills in coding or UI designing, UX research, and are eager to deepen and expand their skill sets in a fast-paced, collaborative, agile and lean environment. This is a great opportunity for: a researcher who wants to gain more experience in design, a designer who wants to practice more research & strategy, a UX researcher or designer who wants to further develop product sense.

During the 6-month apprenticeship program, apprentices will work on our client’s team participating in existing client projects. The apprentice will participate in team meetings, design workshops, and project planning sessions as a design professional.


  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional team members
  • Design and lead collaborative design workshop to inform product vision and strategy
  • Design and conduct user research activities and provide actionable suggestions to the team
  • Create wire frames and prototypes to communicate the design and test concepts.

Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses:

  • Bachelor, Master, or PhD in HCI, psychology, fine arts, computer science, or a related degree.
  • Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Adobe Creative Suite and user experience design principles and tools.
  • Knowledge of Foundation design skills and design disciplines- Interaction design, UI design, Visual design, Motion design, Digital illustration, UX design and Prototyping
  • Technical knowledge:- User research and user testing, Design for multiple platforms, Copy writing and Coding

Relevant Years of Experience Required:

  • At least 6 months of experience in the industry, beyond coursework/hackathon



Other Requirements:

  • Excellence in the principles and execution of lean startup product development such as Design Thinking, Agile Development, and Lean UX.
  • Excellent outreach ability
  • Champion UX best practices and develop a human centered design culture.
  • Good technical skills in coding, design, or research
  • Willingness to go extra miles to seek good product solution
