Production Line Lead

Type: Full-time (contract)
Length: 1-year with the possibility of an extension
Pay: $25.00 / HR
Shift/Hours: M-F, occasional weekends and OT

Qualifications for the Production Line Lead include:

  • Direct Reports include Hourly Production team members
  • Responsible for operational performance and improvement of key metrics including safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale.
  • Align area metrics with overall department/value stream goals; organize resources to deliver on these metrics.
  • Oversee the daily start-up of production area.
  • Maintain a good technical knowledge of operations; follow the escalation process to address and respond to abnormalities and recommend corrective action as required.
  • Facilitate delegation of issues to appropriate level in escalation process.
  • Ensure the Lean manufacturing practices and Escalation Process set forth under the Appliance Production System are followed and adhered to within the value stream manufacturing operations.
  • Communicate key issues to leadership team at the daily production meeting.
  • Ensure process stability through following standardized work
  • Ensure adherence to Job Instructions
  • Ensure 5S standards are met
  • Required skills:

  • Provide active day-to-day leadership, work direction and support for a manufacturing team within a production area
  • Experience ensuring daily work goals are followed and met
  • Supervise staff of 10-40 people prior experience required, 30-50 preferred
  • Ensure production team members are at their stations and on task
  • Experience leading teams in a production environment
  • Mechanical experience Required (bike building/car building/motorcycle building experience/train building experience a plus)
  • Familiar with safety and Osha rules and regulations
  • Experience with lean manufacturing
  • 5s experience
  • Maintain a culture of safety
  • Prior experience maintaining/troubleshooting manufacturing equipment a plus
  • Experience aligning and managing production metric goals
  • Prior experience working within a large company in a production environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or similar field
