Title: Production Supervisor
Pay: 31.00$ to 32.10 Hourly
Duration: 12 Months (possible to perm based on performance and business needs)
Location: Massena, NY
Shift: Rotating 8-hour shifts Midnights, Days and afternoons (10:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 6:30 AM – 3 PM, 2:30 PM – 11 PM)

Description of work

This position is responsible for supervising, scheduling and leading a group of employees to meet production departmental goals

Qualifications:

Ensure all Environmental & Safety policies are followed
Monitoring performance and implementing corrective actions to meet goals
Identifying and Implementing improvement plans
Solving problems to the root to prevent a recurrence
Effectively communicating with others within and outside the work group
Maintain all production and related quality assurance records
Providing leadership, direction and motivation to people in assigned area
Effectively manage employee and labor relations including contract administration, grievance handling and day-to-day employee complaints/issues
Responsible for meeting or exceeding production goals including production output, safety, on time delivery, and people initiatives within a traditional unit supervisor role
Direct the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing) including 5S, standardized work, work balance, product flow and TPM improvements
Own cost savings initiatives (degree of implementation)
Experience in a union environment, manufacturing experience, supervisory experience.
Motivate the workforce, monitor progress of orders through the different production centers, resolve issues that arise.
Degree not required. OT, work 2 weekends a month, Training on day shift.

Education Requirements:

HS or GED equivalent.

Special Instructions:

Should have experience with building expansion projects, equipment installation and process flow. Structural knowledge to be able to discuss code requirements as well as OSHA standards.
