Production Manager

Our client in Smithfield, NC is searching for their next 2nd shift Production Manager. This company has top safety ratings and is one of the largest air filter manufacturers in the industry! This individual will be responsbile for managing multiple production lines and associates, contribute actively to lean processes and continous improvement, and schedule production to achieve high safety standards, efficient cost-effective processes, assembly, and quality.

Primary duties:

Supervise the daily operations of production area.
Schedule production and ensure goals are met.
Adhering and following guidelines to comply with company and safety standards
Continous improvement implementation and processes
Provide feedback to employees after goals are met.
Production Scheduling.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.


Securing working order for all assembly and parts of machines, collaborating with maintence staff
Staffing effectively to ensure production schedules and employees align with business needs. This also includes hiring, affirmitve action, and overtime procedures.
Collaborating with quality control department to determine cause of any non-conformance issues and make recommendations for production changes as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

HS Diploma or equivalent
One year of management experience in fast-paced production environment; preferrably 2nd or 3rd shift
Lean process, six sigma preferred
Knowledge of filter and/or assembly procedures
Management skills are needed to be able to direct the daily operations of the department
One year of production scheduling and reporting; experience using AS400 or similar system preferred
Requires the ability to read blueprints and interpret product drawings.
Light mathematical skills
Strong communication skills; written and verbal
Light experience in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift up to approximately 50 pounds.
Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions, including climbing and descending stairs.
Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses or goggles, particle mask, hearing protection, etc.
Works in all areas of the plant with exposure to noise and dust.
