Production Mechanic daylight shift

A local leading organization is currently seeking a First Shift Production Mechanic in Robinson Township for a long-term temporary to hire opportunity. Production Mechanic positions require candidates to be responsible for the support of production and process operations in order maximize equipment uptime.

  • Responsible for performing the necessary corrective maintenance required keeping the facility and equipment within the facility operating properly.
  • Perform all maintenance activities in a safe, clean and efficient manner.
  • Change and repair parts, rebuild equipment, and align; gears, shafts, pulleys and belts.
  • Use illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification and maintenance of equipment.
  • Inform Supervisor of parts and equipment used from inventory.
  • Responsible for responding to all assigned maintenance work orders in a timely manner. Additionally, respond in a timely manner to all red lights on the production floor.
  • Responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with the preventive maintenance plan. These activities will be recorded using the proper PM check sheets.
  • Gain detailed knowledge of equipment components to diagnose causes of electrical mechanical malfunctions or provides corrective maintenance.
  • Participate in maintenance training program to improve your knowledge skills and abilities. Also, develop skills in electrical or HVAC.


Typical decisions made or referred:

  • Requires following instructions and procedures closely.
  • Fix machines immediately or to prepare a work order due to the complexity of the work.


Typical problems encountered:

  • Keeping machinery functional relative to set-up issues with problem copy or unconventional copy as well as unforeseen mechanical problems.
  • Works through problems encountered such as electrical malfunctions, HVAC failures, and support equipment break down.
  • High pressure work environment to return equipment and machinery to operational status during production.
  • Maintaining compliance with changing OSHA regulations.


Technical degree and/or equivalent experience required


This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity on 1st shift, Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, with mandatory weekend overtime as needed.
