Production Supervisor

We're currenlty recruiting on behalf of our client for the role of Production Supervisor for its Haines City, FL facility. You will be responsible for managing the safe production of wet and/or dry products, ensuring the effective functioning of plant equipment. You will provide leadership to the manufacturing team, and facilitate the production process to ensure the achievement of all manufacturing objectives including manufacturing, quality, housekeeping, and ensuring the observance of environmental, health & safety, and other company policies and procedures.


YOU WILL:


With the assistance of the Plant Manager, develop and deploy performance objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for subordinate personnel\Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures;
Maintain staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities;
Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments;
Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries;
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards;
Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques;
Provide production information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests;
Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedure;
Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; and coordinating with human resources on recommended actions;
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies;
Prepare performance evaluations and recommends pay rate changes, promotions and transfers of subordinate personnel to Plant Manager;
Supervise and participate in projects and repairs to the plant, equipment and facilities and grounds in general;
Provide direction and assistance in corrective, preventive and predictive repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment;
Ensure that environmental, safety and other types of rules and regulations, along with the adherence to company policies and procedures are observed throughout the facility.


YOU HAVE:


Associates degree in an Engineering or Technical field a minimum.
Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or a Technical field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years production supervisory experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
Experience in Continuous Improvement, Safety Protocols, Project Management, batch processing, stucco products or chemical manufacturing environment a plus.
Basic knowledge of industrial troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs preferred.
Comprehend written and verbal instructions. Ability to read and interpret standard business documents, including production processes, policies, procedures, production, regulations. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language. Bilingual English/Spanish language capabilities preferred.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, compute ratios, percentages, basic statistics.
Must have strong deductive reasoning and decision-making ability to interpret and execute instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be able to supervise and participate in the troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical malfunctions in production machinery and equipment.
Ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of dry and wet product conveying, pumping and mixing. Stucco, acrylics and chemical manufacturing processes and techniques are a plus.
Lean/Six Sigma and/or Kaizen training strongly preferred
