Project Architect (Construction)

Adecco Search is, on behalf of its client, currently on the hunt for Project Architects for our client in Uptown Charlotte. In this role you will coordinate and manage the day-to-day operation and activities of a project and the staff assigned to it to assure quality, profitability, efficiency and timeliness. Working hand in hand with the developer from project inception, you will identify the needs and concerns of the client and work to successfully satisfy these.

You will:

Work with Design Project Manager/Design Director to define scope of product.
Assist Project Coordinators in answering questions and coordination items that they are not familiar
Prepare workforce requirements, schedules, budgets and fee projections with Design Project Manager.
Collaborate with UL, code consultant, fire protection engineers, and others to advance system design and utilization
Communicate with Krakow-based Director of Engineering and Design to ensure teams are working together to the best of their abilities
Develop code searches.
Assist in producing schematic design process with external/internal design teams.
Monitor and collaborate design development and contract documents with external/internal design teams.
Maintain project records, including code documentation, project history, correspondence, estimates and budgets.
Oversee BIMSA proposals, direction and compliance
Assist in the development of technical skills of subordinates
Maintain open communication with clients to avoid problems and improve working relationships.
Initiate and participate in construction walk-throughs.
Review the work of project staff for content and accuracy.
Participate in billing process to provide accurate information of work progress and additional billing requirements and follows-up on overdue invoices.
Initiate remedial action for projects falling behind budgeted hours/dollars.
Communicate delays, problems with project, etc. Design Project Manager
Stau current on trends and developments in the housing market.
Coordinate projects with outside consultants hired by client (including architects, engineers, general contractors, etc.)
Assist with proposals on structural and MEP consultants for development of our Design Services Agreement (DSA).

You have:

Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Bluebeam, and Procore proficiency required to review drawings and estimates; hand sketching ability also preferred
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, written and verbal
Ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
NC registered architect (AIA state registration and/or state registration as required)
Minimum 8 years’ experience in assisting with all phases of a project.
Experience in multi level construction (housing for students, military, & retirement, hotels)
