The Pilot Operations Clerk will assist in the day to day operation of specific research tasks involving people who are participating in research within the UHG offices.

Specific Duties:
1. Prepare study kits for each participant prior to each session
2. Confirm each participant has completed the ICF and surveys prior to the session (study coordinator)
3. Explain participant session protocol and answer any questions
4. Calibrate sensors to participant and troubleshoot any connectivity issues
5. Launch and troubleshoot data capturing software
6. Fit participant to Virtual Reality headset and introduce technology
7. Administer the Virtual Reality content assigned to the participant
8. Record start/stop times of each session on data collection worksheet
9. Instruct the participant in the process of self-service collection of 3 blood glucose samples via finger prick and 3 saliva samples during the participant session
10. Securely store the data files and biochemical samples after each study session
11. Store saliva samples in freezer
12. Clean and disinfect Biopac sensors and study area in-between uses

Must have qualifications/experience:
1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
2. Ability to use basic office applications on a computer
3. Ability to use office equipment such as printers, copiers, scanners
4. Ability to learn and use basic technology, tools, and devices used in research programs
5. Ability to adapt quickly to new tasks and switch tasks when asked
6. Self-directed and resourceful

Shift Start/End Time: 8am - 5pm

The purpose of this position is to perform clerical functions that may include any of the following. The accurate maintenance of research records, welcoming participants into a Virtual Reality experience, support of virtual reality experience such as preparing the technology and instructing people on how to use it, storing samples collected during the experience for researchers to examine, other duties as assigned. Qualifications include knowledge of English for reading and writing and verbal communications, generally equivalent to high school diploma or equivalent education and experience, ability to operate a computer and willing to learn new technologies such as using virtual reality headsets
