Salary: 70k – 80k

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Public Relations Manager is a key factory staff member responsible for growing the company brand awareness and product interest by generating targeted and favorable media coverage and developing and managing all aspects of the organization’s public relations strategy that support the Marketing department within the company. The Public Relations Manager will work in concert with cross-functional teams and other departments to provide support in achieving quality goals defined and established by upper management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive brand awareness and product interest by developing and executing a targeted media, influencer, dealer, and customer media relations strategy that includes an annual plan, goals, budget, and tactics coordinated with the agency of record and all internal leaders
Experience determining offsets and ability to adjust accordingly
Develop relationships with key firearms industry writers, bloggers, influencers, and YouTube content creators to generate industry leading coverage of the Kimber brand and products
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word and excel)
Engage audiences across traditional and new media through collaboration with the advertising agency and social media teams, leveraging existing media relationships and cultivating new ones
Manage media T&E (test and evaluation) requests for product reviews and develop and execute plans to maximize exposure for major new product launches
Monitor media coverage utilizing Critical Mention and report results to senior management
Plan, manage, and attend industry and company media events and hunts with key media partners
Trouble shoot various problems and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
Adhere and monitor SOP
Understand/ learn the nature and functionality of the products being launched
Effectively communicate and notify supervisor when there are functional or cosmetic discrepancies
Must be able to accurately input all required data into the manufacturing database
Complete other duties as assigned by manager


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Demonstrable track record of successfully designing and executing public relations campaigns at the local, regional, and national level
Experience acting as a company spokesperson and proficient in video interviews
Exceptional writing and editing skills
Expert in social media, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and blogs
Knowledge of firearms; quality, features, safety, etc.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Cross functional team builder/player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm
Must be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast work environment that has the potential to change due to regulatory and business needs
Need to be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-task
Experience working independently with little supervision


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in consumer goods PR experience
Firearms industry PR experience


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quality performance reports and create solutions. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY
This position requires various reasoning abilities in order to be successful such as:

Ability to collect and document data
Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Ability to perform complex and varied tasks
Ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks for an extended period of time


COMPUTER SKILLS
Required knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and MS Outlook using MS Office Windows platform. Photoshop, Keyshot, and other related software and programs.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position may require travel occasionally.
