The Logistics Purchasing Agent will provide the most cost-effective logistic solutions to the business in accordance with company quality standards, financial plans and service expectations. This individual will impact the business through continuous process improvement, financial planning (budgeting), as well as capability to establish and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers.

• Performs day-to-day operations while ensuring internal and external customer needs are met, or exceeded, by executing the follow:
- Plan and oversee domestic and international shipping operations via ocean, rail, road and air
- Effectively maintain product compliance while communicating shipment details and status updates to all stakeholders throughout shipment
- Identify contingency plans in case of schedule deviations and other operational issues
- Prepare and maintain all customs documentation; ensuring proper notation of all invoices and other documentation related to the shipping process
- Track, manage, and review product inventory and excess stock materials
- Act as a liaison to all departments on all transportation / logistics requirements
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements

• Contract review and negotiation with both new and existing carriers
• Identify forecasting and capacity constraints throughout the supply chain
• Logistic project management; plans and executes operational measures to ensure on-time delivery and accurate completion of projects
• Supports projects of all sizes by:
- Preparing and issuing RFQs
- Analyzing bidders’ responses and negotiating quotes
- Recommending the most suitable logistical solution taking into consideration various KPI’s
- Preparing comprehensive budget estimates
• Works closely with HSE on investigation and conflict resolution associated with incidents and claims
• Manage and administer all required HS code documentation and specifics to ensure CRA compliance; coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance at all times.

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a purchasing related role
• Desired Background in construction
• Working knowledge in transporting over-dimensional loads using road, rail, ocean (vessel and barge) and air
modes of transportation
• Must have strong understanding of import and export customs requirements and all relevant HTS codes
• Excellent analytical skills - able to recognize and assess business impacts of operational processes, as well as identify opportunities for improving efficiency
• Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines
• Strong negotiation skills and the discretion to resolve issues in a tactful manner
• High degree of proficiency and confidence using Oracle, Outlook, SAP, and MS Office applications and specifically MUST have advanced Excel skills
• Strong work ethic and professional attitude
• Second language is preferred
