ADECCO is assisting a premier client in their immediate search for:

Purchasing Analyst
W2 Contract 6 months
Mahwah NJ 07430


Responsibilities:


Execute daily purchasing functions by interacting with both domestic and international plants and groups.
Analyze demand for 2-5K items and set safety stock targets based on demand fluctuations, new product introduction, cannibalization, obsolescence, relevant promotions and input from the planning team.
Set up Item Master; develop and execute inventory build plan to support New Product Launches by working with Marketing, Logistics, Customer Service and Manufacturing Plant.
Develop and track performance metrics, including service level, back orders, inventory, and quality metrics.
Manage inventory under budget and to projections.
Participate in cost reduction initiatives.
Partner with freight supplier and Inbound Team to investigate root causes and improve customs clearance, transit time and put-away performance.
Manage customer returns by appropriately dispositioning products back to manufacturer.
Provide input to develop processes for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI).
Participate in monthly S&OP process ensuring purchasing activities are synchronized with demand plans.


Required Qualifications and Work Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field is required. Ideal candidates will also possess the following skills/experiences:

3-5 years of experience, with at least 1 year in Supply Management with focus on strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier development
Knowledge and experience in supplier contract strategy negotiations, contractual terms, contract administration and VMI
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability to plan, organize and implement multiple concurrent tasks
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with various business functions
Proficient on computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Proven leadership and business acumen skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to exercise independent judgment
Project Management experience a plus!
