Adecco Medical and Science has an immediate need for a Purchasing Assistant for our North County location.

Position is assistant to Operations senior leadership and Purchasing teams. Responsibilities include assisting Sourcing Specialist and Buyers with documentation processes for sourcing new/existing materials and new/existing suppliers. Position is also responsible for purchase order processing and management for non-inventory items, services, equipment and outside processors in response to purchase requisitions and company needs. Position provides administrative support to Operations leadership team including, but not limited to, Vice President of Operations and Sr. Director.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

*Process purchase orders or purchase requisitions for non-inventory acquisitions.
*Assist Sourcing Specialist and Buyers with sourcing activities such as obtaining documentation.
*Assist Sourcing Specialist and Buyers with sending and receiving ongoing compliance documents from suppliers.
*Track and report supplier delivery performance by assisting buyers with scorecard preparation and distribution.
*Assist and support Purchasing, Quality and R&D departments on material qualification processes for new, existing and replacement raw materials.
*Provide administrative support to Sr. Director and Vice President of Operations.
*Assist Sourcing Specialist and Buyers in completion of special projects.
*Represent Purchasing in interdepartmental meetings and cross-functional teams.
*Interact with all departments throughout the company.
*Must be a self-starter and be able to work in conjunction and independently of others in the department.

Job Requirements:

* AA degree and a minimum of five years experience in the nutraceutical or pharmaceutical industry.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Effective interpersonal skills. Strong written and oral communication skills; must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization.
* Must be highly organized & disciplined about completing tasks within deadlines.
* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks where changing priorities is necessary.
* Knowledge of material management and MRP systems. Prior BaaN system experience is a plus.
* Must be proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft Office suite such as Word and Excel.
* Strong commitment to ongoing process improvements and being an integral part of the success of the organization.
