Quality Assurance & Food Safety – Northern VT

Our client, a leader in the food manufacturing industry, is searching for an experienced QA and Food Safety professional for their Northern Vermont plant. Primary contact responsible for execution and implementation of key microbiology and food safety programs. Must have a strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety. The successful candidate will be able to show an ability to identify food safety risks in a food production environment, conduct and prioritize risk analysis, and be able to work with production and management employees to drive root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action. This position will also manage all GFSI requirements as well as multiple customer food safety requirements for the site and be able to plan and direct activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials and products. Perform other Quality and Food Safety related duties as requested.


Conduct audits (GMP, ISO, HACCP, BRC, etc.)
Provide guidance for and validate food safety and quality programs
Create and maintain calibration schedule, handle instrument non-conformances and vendor contacts as appropriate
Maintain, update procedures and conduct required and appropriate training
Monitor and Maintain HACCP, CCP, QCP sheets and communicate issues
Perform special projects as assigned (Committees, continuous improvement, etc.)
Oversee testing and inspections for refinished and raw materials, review results, communicate non conformances, maintain appropriate records and logs
Train and update QA and plant personnel in procedures and methods
Promote a safe working environment and good GMP’s
Committed to providing a safe food product
Works within all regulatory requirements
Develops and implement methods and procedures for disposition of complaints and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility


BS degree in an appropriate discipline
Working knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP, Sanitation, ISO and working SPC/statistical knowledge
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to multi-task and delegate
Organizational and analytical skills
