Adecco is looking for a Quality Assurance Inspector - Packaging for a Supplement company in Vista, CA. The person is responsible for performing in-process auditing of packaging, inspecting labels, packaging components and finished product to ensure conformance to specification.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Audits packaging operations ensuring cGMP compliance and adherence to company procedures.
* Inspects finished product, using a statistical sampling plan, to verify conformance to specifications.
* Inspects labels and packaging components at receipt to verify conformance to specifications.
*Performs secondary review of DSHEA label inspection reports and approves release of conforming material.
* Completes and files required documentation.

* Approve labeling (expiration dating, correct label revision, lot numbers, coding placement) according to batch record specification prior to start of packaging batch.
* May assist the Quality Assurance Department in the inspection of raw materials at receipt and/or assist with bulk product inspections to verify conformance to specifications.
* May perform physical inspection and testing as required such as Identity testing using FT-IR analyzer, disintegration, Loss on Drying using moisture analyzer, loose and/or tapped density, sieve analysis using various screens with Ro-tap equipment, weight variation, hardness and thickness testing, Irradiation screening using PPSL equipment.
* Communicates inspection failures and non-conformances to QA Supervisor or QA Coordinator.
* Follows QA Coordinator/Supervisor/Manager instruction on handling non-conforming materials or product.
* Understands and follows company procedures and policies for inspecting materials and finished product established in compliance with 21 CFR 111, Dietary Supplement cGMP.
* Understands and follows written instruction provided in company procedures and specifications. Notifies QA Coordinator or Supervisor of any deviations to the procedure or specifications. Obtains instructions and approval for handling deviation prior to initiating action.
* Able to communicate and inter-act effectively with Purchasing, Planning, R & D, Distribution, Inventory Control Operations, Client Services and Quality personnel.
* Maintain a sanitary working environment.

* Assists with management/maintenance of Finished Good retains.

*Assists with duties related to label cage maintenance.
* Performs other duties as requested

 

Qualifications

* High School Diploma Required. BA/BS degree in physical science or Quality Experience preferred.
* Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
* Ability to document information completely and accurately
* Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
* Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access and Excel.
* Proven knowledge and ability to conduct and interpret inspection criteria, data and results

 

Physical Demands

*Employee is required to walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel product, reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel, talk and hear. Frequently required to sit and stand.
* Job requires use of close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.
* Lifting requirement up to 50 pounds.

 

Pay Rate: $14-$16 DOE
