Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the Quality Control Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Develops and analyzes statistical data of product specifications to ensure present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.

Formulates written procedures and maintains quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.

Implements and manage all aspects of HACCP coordination.

Lead resource within plant for company Quality initiatives and Quality audits.

Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other department managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes for each department.

Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products throughout the production cycle. This includes pre-op, glass and brittle plastic control, metal detection and calibration of key equipment.

Works with vendors to insure quality of all purchased parts for company use to include incoming ingredient inspection.

Creates and directs environmental test functions.

Plays active role on quality management teams within organization to include Facility Security.

Designs and implements quality control training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.

Responsible for Quality Policy at the plant level.

Responsible for incident reporting.

Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.

Primary contact with regulatory and compliance issues (USDA, FDA, GA Department of Agriculture).

Manages budgeting, purchasing and inventory of department operating supplies.

Manages mock recall program and is the lead contact on any recalls.

Coordinates internal and external Food Safety, Pre-Op and GMP audits.

Audits Sanitation Quality system.

Audits Sanitation Procedures.

Monitors Pest Control Program.

Pre-Op Inspections (ATP & Micro Swabbing).

Oversee Allergen Control Program.

Executes environmental pathogen testing program.

Conducts water testing program.

Involved in sanitation design projects.

Engaged with chemical suppliers to include supplier performance reviews.

Make decisions on products to be placed on hold and when to release products.

Conducts full sanitation audits relating to procedures, quality, safety, and equipment tear down for compliance. Including SOWI, Master Sanitation Schedule, GMP, and Pre-op.

Responsible for maintaining Stakeholder Log Sheet.

Other such duties as may be assigned.
