SUMMARY
Performs quality control activities for the purpose of determining acceptability to appropriate standards, guidelines, and conformance criteria as specified in procedures, work instructions, drawings, and product specifications. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for working across departments and inspecting materials such as composite core and fabricated/machined parts (or components) for said conformance. The Quality Control Inspector will be further responsible for documenting first-article inspections and preparing non-conformance disposition sheets, as well as in-process inspection of parts and materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
�Assistance with implementation and administration of Company's quality and ISO 9001 standards, processes, and procedures.
� In accordance with engineering drawings, SOPs, and quality instructions, examine in-process and finished materials/products for surface defects such as cracks, pits, incomplete welds, discoloration, burrs, unacceptable tolerances, etc. and assist others in correcting or preventing deficiencies in quality of workmanship.
� Read and interpret blueprints/drawings, material specifications, engineering change notices, router information, and established operating procedures (using measuring instruments), to determine acceptance, rejection, or rework requirements.
� Document finished product status by recording and summarizing raw materials, in-process, and finished-product inspection/physical test data; reporting needed changes, and updating quality assurance database.
� Determine acceptability of rework by conducting inspections and physical tests of reworked product.
� Verify specified dimensions.
� Reject defective parts/components, document specified defects on parts/components, and notify others through the utilization of non-conforming material report.
� Select products for inspection at specified stages in the production process and test for variety of qualities such as specified dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
� Evaluate and record inspection data applying quality control procedures and write reports to validate/indicate deviations from existing standards.
� Follow established processes and procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
� Generate, prepare, and maintain inspection/rejection reports.
� Perform internal Company audits.
� Help develop and implement an equipment calibration system.
� Administer receiving inspection program of raw materials.
� Prevent and eliminate non-conformances by generating Material Review Reports for corrective action and disposition of product.
� Ensure fabricated/machined/manufactured items traceable to documented engineering standards.
� Submit end-of-month performance reports.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
� A.A. degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
� Understanding of manufacturing workflow, including planning activities.
� Demonstrated attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills.
� Computer skills necessary to document/report activities.
� Ability to read/write/speak English sufficiently to perform tasks and coordinate inspection/non-conforming product responsibilities.
� Experience with, and understanding of, ISO 9001 quality initiatives and documentation.
� Proven ability to multi-task, work independently with minimal supervision, and interact well with others.
� Knowledge of effective internal controls procedures.
� Familiar with JIT and lean manufacturing concepts.
� Knowledge of inspection techniques, measurement gauges, and other measurement technology.
� Demonstrated knowledge of math skills to include all units of measure such as whole numbers, fractions, percent, and decimals.
� Required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
� Required to talk or hear.
� Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
� Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
